Vol. 2

I think that American corporations should do more to foster job creation and economic development in the United States. But I don't necessarily look at that in terms of CSR. I think it's more about Nationalism. These corporations were able to get to the point that they are at, and the C-suite level employers were able to acquire the immense amount of wealth that they have, because they are an American company and American citizens. I think they should feel strong ties to their country. And want to help their fellow Americans and their nation out. They are a big part of the problem, and should be a big part of the solution. But I think that comes out of love for your country, being an American, and a deep appreciation for what this country has given you. I guess in some ways that ties into some of the overarching CSR themes. But I tend to compartmentalize the two.

Re: Do Businesses Really Care Or Is It All About Appearances?

Do we really care what motivates any donor?
Reporting both the good and the bad is the only way for an organization that is truly committed to sustainability. Look at the poster-child of corporate sustainability Interface...they will be the first to admit that their products on the whole do more harm to the environment than good. Their honesty and drive to completely flip this upside down has made them who they are: a sustainability AND a business leader. So there's your case.

I'm the Business editor at Before It's News. Our site is a People Powered news platform with over 2.5 million visits a month and growing fast.

We would be honored if we could republish your blog RSS feed in our business category. I believe the content on PR Scoup would be a great fit for our readers.

Syndicating to Before It's News is a terrific way to spread the word and grow your audience. Many other organizations are using Before It's News to do just that. We can have your feed up and running in 24 hours. I just need you to reply with your permission to do so. Please include the full name and email of the person who will be attached to the account, and let me know the name you want on the account (most people have their name or their blog name).

You can also have any text and/or links you wish appended to the end or prepended to the beginning of each of your posts on Before It's News. Just email me the text and links that you want at the beginning and/or ending of each post. If you know html you can send me that. If not, just send me the text and a link to your site. It should be around 200 characters or less (not including links).

You can, if you like, create a custom feed for Before It's News that includes multiple links back to your blog or web site. We only require that RSS feeds include full stories, not partial stories. We don't censor or edit work.

Talk to you soon.

Best,

We have the tools necessary to have our voice heard. Unlike previous generations, we have soap boxes to shout our thoughts off. The real test for the social media phenom and it's impact on Haiti will be in the coming weeks and months. Sure it's been an incredible vehicle for raising funds however, as far as staying power goes, we'll just have to wait and see whether or not these efforts are wasted like they have been in the past.
My hope is that the millions of people who've opened their wallets for Haiti these last few days take the time to look into the question "what is Haiti". She will only rise from the ashes once the international community educates itself and sheds it's misconceptions.
